When does Halo: Campaign Evolved release?
The game arrives worldwide on July 28, 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (including Steam). Players who buy certain editions get early access from July 23, five days before the standard launch.
What is Halo: Campaign Evolved?
Developed by Halo Studios in Unreal Engine 5, it is a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, the 2001 shooter that started the whole franchise. It reimagines the original campaign with modern visuals, redesigned levels and brand-new missions that deepen the story of the Master Chief and the discovery of the ringworld Halo. The focus is the campaign — the original competitive multiplayer is not included — but there is four-player online co-op and two-player split-screen.
Halo on PlayStation and Game Pass
The headline is reach. Halo: Campaign Evolved is the first mainline Halo to launch on PlayStation 5, releasing the same day on Xbox and PC with cross-play and cross-progression. It is also available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
